Professor Goelzhauser's research and teaching interests are in American political institutions with an emphasis on law and courts. He regularly teaches courses on Law & Politics, Constitutional Law, and the First Amendment. In addition to numerous journal articles on state and federal courts, he is the author of two books: Choosing State Supreme Court Justices: Merit Selection and the Consequences of Institutional Reform (Temple University Press, 2016) and Judicial Merit Selection: Institutional Design and Performance for State Courts (Temple University Press, forthcoming).
