Internships

Internships

A myriad of internship opportunities exist for Utah State students interested in politics. Each semester our students work with politicians at the local, state and federal level. In the past, students have worked for think-tanks, government agencies, lobbying firms and legislators on Capitol Hill including Orin Hatch and Ted Kennedy. Internships are available through the university’s Institute of Government and Politics at agencies and organizations including the American Farmland Trust, CIA, CNN, Foreign Embassies, Kennedy Center for the Arts, USAID, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, U.S. Department of Energy, White House and more.

Government and policy internship opportunities are endless for students of all majors. Contact the IOGP and ask what internships are available that suit your interests. Email Brandee Spackman at brandee.spackman@usu.edu, call 435-797-0257, or stop by MAIN 109.

For more information about internships, check out the Institute of Government and Politics website.

International Internships

A handful of students seek internships abroad each year. Professor Colin Flint helps coordinate these efforts. Contact him for information about current opportunities.
